GROWING AND CARING FOR YOUR HYDRANGEAS

Kari Arney, Horticulturist at Sullivan’s Hardware will be talking about hydrangeas and what we can do to grow those beautiful flowers. Hydrangea is a genus of about 75 species of flowering plants native to China and the Americas. They are extremely vigorous, long-lived shrubs that offer extravagant blooms throughout summer and even into fall, when many shrubs have completed their show for the year. All bring a stately, oldfashioned feel to the landscape. Growers have developed a number of interesting hydrangeas which are not the traditional white ones our grandmothers had. Find out from Kari’s presentation which ones are your favorites and which hydrangeas grow best in our Indiana climate.
