The AHS-sanctioned hosta show is a great way to share our love of hostas and educate ourselves and others about hostas.

The show competition includes twelve different cut leaf sections, a container grown division, trough/container grown gardens, tri-fecta, along with educational displays.

We encourage all members to participate. The show schedule with complete rules and details are posted on our website.

If you would like to volunteer to help with the show or have questions about entering leaves in the show, contact the show chair Janet Stultz

Hope to see you there!

Welcome to the Indianapolis Hosta Society website!

What an exciting time it is for the IHS!

After several years at Holliday Park in Indianapolis, the society partnered with Coxhall Gardens in Hamilton County in 2023, and the majority of our programs, meetings, and events are now held at the Mansion at Coxhall Gardens.

Adjacent to the mansion, work has begun to realize our long-time goal of establishing a public garden to further our mission to educate, inform, and inspire gardeners about the genus Hosta.  While there is still a bit of work to be done, great progress of the IHS Display Garden has been made.  This beautiful oasis promises to inform and impress the public for many years to come.

Yearly activities of the society include presentations by local, regional, and national speakers on a variety of garden-related topics, garden tours – both local and regional, and many other fun-filled social events.

Check this website for information about membership in the IHS.  Grab a friend and join us.  After all, the Hosta is known as “the friendship plant!”

On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, thank you for visiting our website, and we hope to see you soon!

Happy Gardening,
