Plants are typically the stars of a garden. However, it is the complimentary “non-plants” that set the stage. Explore the many elements that give structure, interest, and charm to a garden. They might be more integral than the plants themselves.
David Gorden is a landscape architect with Mark M. Holeman, Inc. in Indianapolis where he has been designing landscapes for over 35 years. A graduate of the University of Illinois, he is a past president of the Horticultural Society of Newfields and the Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. A soldier in the battle against invasive plants, he serves on the Indiana Invasive Plant Advisory Committee and board of the Midwest Invasive Plant Network. In 2018 he was named a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
