SUMMARY:Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:“Architecture in the Garden:  From Fountains to Fences to Pink Flamingos” \n\n\n\nDavid Gorden\, FASLALandscape ArchitectMark M. Holeman\, Inc. – Landscape Architects and Contractors \n\n\n\nPlants are typically the stars of a garden.  However\, it is the complimentary “non-plants” that set the stage. Explore the many elements that give structure\, interest\, and charm to a garden.  They might be more integral than the plants themselves. \n\n\n\nDavid Gorden is a landscape architect with Mark M. Holeman\, Inc. in Indianapolis where he has been designing landscapes for over 35 years. A graduate of the University of Illinois\, he is a past president of the Horticultural Society of Newfields and the Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. A soldier in the battle against invasive plants\, he serves on the Indiana Invasive Plant Advisory Committee and board of the Midwest Invasive Plant Network. In 2018 he was named a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

SUMMARY:Monthly meeting
DESCRIPTION:GROWING AND CARING FOR YOUR HYDRANGEAS \n\n\n\nKari Arney\, Horticulturist at Sullivan’s Hardware will be talking about hydrangeas and what we can do to grow those beautiful flowers. Hydrangea is a genus of about 75 species of flowering plants native to China and the Americas. They are extremely vigorous\, long-lived shrubs that offer extravagant blooms throughout summer and even into fall\, when many shrubs have completed their show for the year. All bring a stately\, oldfashioned feel to the landscape. Growers have developed a number of interesting hydrangeas which are not the traditional white ones our grandmothers had. Find out from Kari’s presentation which ones are your favorites and which hydrangeas grow best in our Indiana climate.

SUMMARY:Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Rad Drew Photography \n\n\n\nThe creative mind of the photographer is still the most important element in a great photo. The camera doesn’t create a photograph any more than a hammer designs a building; it’s merely a tool that allows us to create our vision. \n\n\n\nToday\, my camera bag holds two mirrorless cameras\, an infrared camera\, a point-and-shoot\, and assorted iPhones. Of these tools\, I credit my use of iPhones since 2010 with providing more opportunities to practice the esthetics of photography\, making me a better photographer regardless of the camera I’m using. I’m grateful that I remain passionate about photography and that the endeavor I began so long ago is still fun and magical!
